I know summer technically begins on June 22nd, but in my mind it starts Memorial Day Weekend. Memorial Day is first and foremost a day to honor our veterans and give them thanks for their service. Remembering how lucky I am to live in this country makes celebrating this weekend even more enjoyable.

To kick off unofficial summer right, I rounded up some of my favorite decor for *the* theme party of the summer…. pineapples, flamingos and palm trees! Whether you’re throwing a birthday party, a bachelorette/engagement party, baby shower or a good ole’ fashion summer shindig just for the hell of it… you need to own these items.

PALM LEAF DECOR

These palm leaf placemats come in a set of 4 and are very versatile. You can use them as placemats for a sit-down dinner, you can use them as decor and turn them into a hanging banner, or you can use them as mats on your buffet table underneath a water pitcher or cake stand. I own them myself and can tell you that they are great quality – made of thick material, a vibrant green color and large enough to see on your table even when using a charger.

I love to give my guests a few options – whether that be plates, napkins or glassware. The variety also doubles as added decor to your tablescape! These metallic foil palm leaf plates in gold and green, plus these gold/green palm tree plates and scalloped dessert plates are the perfect four-some for serving cake.

If you’re a fan of the scalloped dessert plate, check out the rest of what this Tropical Wedding Collection has to offer – I’m a big fan of the tablecloth. {For being paper and cheap, it’s one of the chicer palm leaf print tablecloths I’ve seen lately. Probably due to its simplicity.}

FLAMINGO DECOR:

This adorable sherbet-colored plastic cup design is also available in small plates and dinner plates.  The turquoise and pink napkin design also come in a dinner plate as well. I **love** these pink metallic plates and would use these just as much for an adult party as I would a kids.

How adorable is this stuff?! A charcuterie board is an ArdyParty must, so these flamingo cheese knives are too good to be true… {and the price ain’t bad either… 4 for under $10}!

These wheelbarrows are UNREAL. {And come in every color of the rainbow!} You can do so much with them! I would use them as condiment bowls for ketchup + mustard, salt + pepper, or for dessert toppings like sprinkles + chocolate chips. You could also use them as serving dishes for candy, nuts, lemons/limes or even to hold a few cookies.

The Flamingo Basket is going fast, so if this isn’t available online anymore try hunting one down at a local store. If you’re lucky enough to get your hands on one, I’d use it to serve chips or flatware wrapped in napkins at a party. On a day-to-day basis, perfect for fruit!

I have used these flamingo food picks to serve cheese, lemons/limes for cocktails, olives and fruit.

This melamine flamingo bowl pictured is only $5, but it’s pretty small (about 6″ wide and 2″ deep). So I found an identical version of this bowl in a larger size (14″ wide and 4″ deep) for $15 – both are great for serving dips.

You can get this entire flamingo party set, which includes these large and small plates, these cups, plus straws and napkins all for $30!!!!

This flamingo set has tea party or baby shower written all over it!! For a tea party, I would integrate my real china with this set. For example, you can use your real china for buffet items and have these plates for dessert and/or these napkins near the bar for cocktails.

I like to use serveware to make a statement. You could soley buy these three pieces for your party and you’d be set… no other decor needed!

PINEAPPLE DECOR

I love this collection by Martha Stewart! The bright colors are perfect for Summer outdoor entertaining. The striped pattern of the bowls are the perfect amount of preppy. The pineapple bowl is actually pretty large and deep enough for fruit or chips.

It’s all about the layers!! If the budget allows, I would buy both of these banners and layer the glitter cut-outs on top of the tropical tassel banner!
