I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend! Later this week, I am planning on hosting a small backyard BBQ as a send-off for my besties that are moving to a new city. Although I can’t throw them a big bash in the current climate, I know they will still feel all the love with only a few close friends (social distancing) in my backyard.
When hosting outside, I like to avoid using glassware by using a mix of melamine plasticware and paper products. Practically everything included in this post is outdoor-safe! How cute are those lime napkins to place on my Margarita bar?!
MELAMINE, ALL MINE!
I am obsessed with the set of 4 beautiful blue melamine dipping bowls, perfect for condiments like ketchup and mustard, or for extra salt for your guest’s margaritas. Since we are keeping the party short and sweet, I am not planning on serving a lot of food, so the green chip and dip bowl (with the adorable bluebird perching on the rim) is the perfect statement piece for a backyard party. I’ve included some of my favorite outdoor serveware below!
ICE ICE BABY
When hosting a party, *especially when outside in hot temps* it is imperative to have lots of ice on hand. That’s why I love this outdoor riviera bar cart… it has two ice buckets included! And the bottom shelf is perfect for storing extra glasses. In addition to the bar cart, I will have a few party tubs out filled with different drink options on ice to keep them cool. But, the AERIN ginger jar champagne bucket is ideal for ice being used solely for making cocktails. (The ice tongs are key here versus everyone using their hands!) I’ve included some of my favorite ice buckets below.
Can’t wait to share with you the finished look from my backyard BBQ. Cheers to grillin’ and chillin’!
This dreary January weather has me dreaming of the warm, sunny days to come. I just moved into a new house and can’t wait to host parties in my backyard. These are some of my top picks right now for creating your own outdoor oasis:
I also have my eye on these goodies:
Now let’s just pray that the ground hog doesn’t see his shadow next week, because these items have me *READY* for Spring!!
There are so many reasons to love celebrating Cinco de Mayo. #1 Mexican food, #2 festive decor, #3 margaritas #4 QUESO … ok, queso can technically fall under #1, but it obviously deserves a solo shout out.
Every year Cinco de Mayo decor gets cuter and it was incredibly difficult to put together this round up… *Sooo* I decided I’d include a few more options in my post than I was able to squeeze in my round up.
These indoor/outdoor margarita glasses come in 4 colors (blue, pink, orange and clear) and are *on sale* for only $10 for a set of 4!!! You can also buy matching acrylic pitchers, little goblet glasses and tumblers in any of the 4 colors.
Also *extremely* obsessed with these cactus margarita glasses. There are a good amount of cactus margarita glasses on the market right now, but this is by far the cutest one. The others I’ve seen can look a little cheap or the cactus stem isn’t as nicely pronounced as this one. These are also *on sale* right now – $6/each!
These stoneware plates are really cool and I would use these year-round … probably because I live in Texas, but perhaps not? Either way, I love the simplicity of the cactus design. I might go ahead and buy these as a gift for my mom to keep at the ranch for family dinners. The only downside is that hand washing them is recommended for care. Womp womp….
You can’t go wrong with the classic fringe/tassel garlands that are all the craze these days, but it’s nice to mix it up sometimes. This Pom-Pom garland and chandelier are a chic way to incorporate the classic Cinco de Mayo festive colors, while not using the plastic garland you’ll most likely end up throwing away. (Oh, and does anyone else see the potential to also use these in a baby’s nursery or play room? )
You may recognize these from my Napkin Ring Round Up. I think these napkin rings are ideal for any party all Spring and Summer long… whether that be fiesta-themed, just a Summer gathering, a birthday party or a baby shower/gender reveal party.
If you’re planning on having a backyard fiesta, these luminary bags are the ideal decoration. Add a little candle and place them around your tables or use them to line the path to the table from your house. At night they will look really romantic and have the perfect amount of glimmer from the candlelight (real or battery powered).
The Del Sol patterned chip and dip bowl is gorgeous and makes me think of something Catherine Zeta Jones in Zorro would have at a party. (Just me? Cool.) The super modern, yellow ombre and gold-rimmed bowl is the epitome of cool. It’s not exactly on-theme, but if you own something that cool you’d probably want to bring it out for every occasion right?!
